THIS YEAR's British National Ploughing Championships & Country Festival celebrates its' 75th anniversary. Set amid the beautiful Warwickshire countryside at Austrey, near Atherstone, the two-day event takes place on 10th & 11th October and promises to be one of the biggest and best.
Nearly 240 of the UK's finest ploughmen and women will demonstrate their precision and skills across 15 championship classes plus the weekend will culminate with the award for Supreme Champion, as well as selecting the competitors to represent England at the 2027 World and European Ploughing Championships.
Viisitors will also get a glimpse into how farming has changed over the past 300 years with horse ploughing classes; demonstrations of steam ploughing engines; vintage tractors and machinery; right through to the latest farm equipment.
There will be an extensive array of agricultural trade stands; shopping stalls and country crafts, and this year will see the return of a Chieftain tank taking to the field to demonstrate its unique ploughing capabilities - something for all the family! There'll be plenty of free car parking, with tractor and trailer rides provided for ease of movement.
